Christina “Chris” Bartholomew, 83, of Weston, MO passed away Sunday, August 13, 2017 at Bristol Manor in Weston. Chris was born September 15, 1933 in Powhattan, KS to Chris Paul and Cordelia (Simon) Emmett. She lived in Weston many years and was a past resident of Philadelphia, MS, and the Kickapoo reservation in Horton, KS. Chris was of the Catholic faith and spent most of her working life as a homemaker. She enjoyed Royals baseball, playing dice, cards, and bowling. Chris played the piano, and was an accomplished seamstress with her own shop in Weston, called “Bolt N Sew”. She was known by her family and friends for having a great sense of humor. Chris was preceded in death by: her parents; her son Bruce Wayne Bartholomew; 2 grandsons Joshua Gueltzau and Colby Farnan; a great grandson Finnegan Adams; her first husband Lee Roy Barnes; and a brother Larry Emmett. She is survived by: her children Lee Roy (Ann) Barnes, Jr. of Chuluota, FL; Marsh Jim of Philadelphia, MS, Denise Amos of Leavenworth, KS, Deann (Patrick) Farnan of Weston, Brian (Carolyn) Bartholomew of Deltona, FL, and Leah (Joe) Rector of St. Joseph, MO; 11 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; her sisters Betty Knarr of Leavenworth, KS, Sandra Emmett of Easton, KS, and Mary Ann (Tom) Caldwell of Leavenworth, KS; and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. A visitation will be held 10:00 – 11:00 a.m., Thursday, August 17, 2017 at Vaughn Funeral Home in Weston; followed by a 12:30 p.m. graveside service at the Kennekuk Cemetery near Horton, KS.
