Joyce M. Hancock (Chase), 72, passed away Sunday, January 22, 2017 at Northcare Hospice House in North Kansas City, MO. Joyce was born August 8, 1944 in Kansas City, MO to Archie Wayne and Doris Hazel (Schumate) Chase. She was raised in the Kansas City, KS area; and was a 1962 graduate of the Wyandotte High School. Joyce married Michael R. Hancock on November 21, 1964 in Eldon, IA. She was a homemaker in the Platte City area since 1968. Joyce loved fishing and spending time with her family and friends; and most especially, she enjoyed “just going”. She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband Michael; her son Mark William Hancock; 3 brothers Gerald Wayne, Daniel Neal, and Dennis Eugene Chase; and her sister in law Patty Hancock. Joyce is survived by: her daughter Nissa (James) True of Platte City; her grandchildren Trisha Michelle Hancock, MacKenzie Fay True, and Calvin Michael True; her sister in law Angee Chase; and numerous nieces and nephews... A visitation will be held 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 28; followed by an 11:00 a.m. funeral service at Rollins Funeral Home in Platte City. Interment will follow at the Platte City Cemetery. The family suggests contributions be given to NorthCare Hospice.
