Elizabeth Laird, 96 passed away December 4, 2015 at Pleasant Valley Manor in Liberty, MO. A graveside service with military honors, will be 10:30 a.m., Monday, December 7, 2015 at the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Weston. The family suggests contributions be given to the Wounded Warrior Program. Elizabeth was born March 20, 1919 in Agency, MO to Clarence and Georgia (Benner) Deets. She was of the Baptist Faith and lived in the Platte County, and Kansas City area her entire life. Elizabeth married Harold Joe Laird on September 1, 1962 in Miami, OK. She worked as a veterinarian’s assistant for McCrea Veterinary Establishment in Tracy, MO for many years. Elizabeth enjoyed life, and loved her dogs. She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband; a son Paul Burchette; a brother Clarence Deets; a sister Edna Pflugradt; and 2 grandsons Mark Goucher and Shane Burchette. Elizabeth is survived by: a son Curtis Burchette of Smithville, MO; her daughter Martha of K.C., MO; 5 grandchildren; several great grandsons and great, great grandsons; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
