Obituary for Michelle D. "Missy" Lowe

Michelle “Missy” D. Lowe, 48, went home to her Savior Jesus Christ Friday, February 17, 2017. Before coming home into the presence of the LORD, she was being cared for at Shawnee Mission Medical Center in Merriam, KS. Missy was born in Lawrenceburg, IN on December 3, 1968 to Michael Swift and Linda Sidebottom. Missy spent her childhood and teenage years living in Dillsboro, IN. She was a 1987 graduate of South Dearborn High School. Missy married Kevin Paul Lowe on December 23, 1987 in Lawrenceburg, IN. The couple planted their roots in Kansas City where they raised three beautiful girls. Missy worked as a jet issue processor for Jackson National Life Insurance; and as a Preschool teacher at Faith Lutheran Day School. Missy was a member of the Beth Haven Bible Church and also attended Alameda Bible Church while living in Albuquerque, NM. She enjoyed crafts, decorating for the holidays, being creative with her grandkids, watching movies, shopping with her girls, traveling with her husband, and helping with anyone in any way she could. She was very patriotic, and showed tremendous support for the troops. She was preceded in death by: her maternal grandparents Winifred “Winnie” and Russell Sidebottom; and paternal grandpa John Swift her mother Linda Sidebottom-Anderson and her father John Michael Swift; her aunts Theresa “T.C.” Taylor, and Rebecca “Becky” Greenwell and a brother John Michael Swift Jr. Missy is survived by: her beloved husband Kevin; her children Hope & Jeff Ubben, Alysa & Jonathan “JT” Martin, & Isabel Anderson-Lowe; her grandchildren Brayden, Kaylee, Kennedy, Brycen, Lyla, and Hope’s newest addition in July; her brothers Chris Anderson, and Patrick “Cory” Anderson; her sisters Patricia “Trish” Anderson, Peggy Kittle Smith and Buffy Swift; father and mother in law Bill and Sharon Lowe, 3 nephews; 2 nieces; 2 brother-in-law’s and 2 sister-in-law’s. A visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., Thursday, February 23, 2017 at Rollins Funeral Home in Platte City, MO. Funeral services will be at 8:30 a.m., Friday, February 24, at the funeral home; followed by a 10:00 a.m. interment at the Leavenworth National Cemetery in Leavenworth, KS. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be given to Children’s Mercy Hospital, the fund for her grandson Braydon Boyce, or the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
