Eva May (Sims) Niemann, 87, passed away Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at Heritage of Overland Park in Overland Park, KS. A visitation will be held 10:00 – 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 22, 2016 at St. John’s Lutheran Church of Farley, MO; followed by an 11:00 a.m., memorial service. The family suggests in lieu of flowers, contributions be given to St. John’s Lutheran Church of Farley, MO. Eva was born December 16, 1928 in Paradise, MO to George S. and Mary Alice (Wallis) Sims. She was a longtime member of the St. John’s Lutheran Church of Farley, where she married her husband Erwin E. Niemann on February 28, 1951. She was a homemaker and longtime resident of Platte County before moving to Overland Park, KS in later years. Eva was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband Erwin; and numerous siblings. She is survived by: 2 daughters Jean (Stephen) Gordon of Leawood, KS, and Mary Lynn (Denny) Arnold of Normal, IL; 1 brother Daniel Sims of Houlka, MS; 1 sister Mary Brightwell of Ferrelview, MO; 5 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.
