Obituary for Jacquie Sieveking

Jacqueline “Jacquie” Helen (nee Hayes) Sieveking, 82, of Platte City, Mo., passed away on October 3, 2017, at home. A Visitation will be held at 9:30 a.m., followed by a Christian funeral at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday October 10, at Kutis Affton Chapel in St. Louis, Missouri, followed by a committal service at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
Jacquie battled breast cancer for the past 2 years and lived life to the fullest. Her passions were varied and she excelled in many endeavors from toy and gift sales, interior decorating, travel agency and hotel management as well as teaching English as a Second language and mentoring many people. She was an exceptional seamstress and could sew “anything”…including several wedding dresses. She enjoyed entertaining, was a phenomenal cook and made the best apple pie! She served as a University of Missouri Platte County Extension Council Member as well as on numerous church boards in the St. Louis, Dallas and Kansas City areas.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Walter E. Sieveking, her parents James C. Hayes and Otillie S. (Schmidt) Hayes, brother Donald L. Hayes, daughter-in-law Julie (Pipitone) Sieveking. She is survived by, her sister-in-law Eunice (Philip “Bud”) Eiler, her sister-in-law Doris Hayes, her sons Steven (Jamie) Sieveking; Scott (Julie) Sieveking; Stuart (Raquel Reyes) Sieveking; and daughter Marta (Cary) Singleton; and Grandchildren Hayley, Sarah, Erin (Schuyler), Jason, Bryan, Rebeca, Alyssa (Lance) and Gavin, and five great grandchildren Jamison, Savannah, Kira, Griffin, and Cash lovingly called her Grandma Jacquie.
The family will host a Celebration of Life Gathering next month at Jacquie’s Church in Platte City. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to Our Savior Lutheran Church, 14155 Highway N, Platte City, Missouri 64079.
