Michael Patrick O’Connor, 70, of Weston, MO passed away at St. Luke’s Northland Hospital on Wednesday, May 9, 2018. Michael was born June 25, 1947 in Kansas City, MO to John Dennis and Luella Julianne (Shorette) O’Connor. He proudly served his country as a member of the National Guard during the Vietnam Era. Michael married Barbara Jean Robards on August 24, 1968 in Parkville, MO. Michael was a 40+ year member of IBEW Local Union 124, and was very active in the lives of his grandkids. He was preceded in death by: his parents; daughter Peggy O’Connor; and sister Barbie. Michael is survived by: his wife, of the home; three daughters, Paige Haines, Penny (Kevin) Layton, and Katie (Justin) Bogner; son Corey O’Connor; grandchildren Allison, Grayson, Emily, Addison, Avery, Sheaffer, Janalee, Connor, and Eva; sister Patti (Larry) Janacaro; step-mother Lorena O’Connor; and numerous nieces, nephews, friends and extended family. A memorial visitation with military honors will be held 5:00 – 7:00 pm, Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at Vaughn Funeral Home in Weston. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be given to the American Heart Association.
