Michael “Mick” L. Adams Jr., 41, passed away Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at the St. Luke’s Hospice House in Kansas City, MO. A visitation will be held 9:30 – 11:00 a.m., Sunday, October 18, 2015 at Rollins Funeral Home in Platte City, MO; followed by an 11:00 funeral service, at the funeral home. Additional services and interment will follow at 3:00 p.m., at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Corning, Iowa. Memorial Contributions can be given to the family of Michael L. Adams Jr. Mick was born March 17, 1974 in Creston, IA to Michael Leonard Adams Sr. and Maria L. (Roberts) Adams. He was a 1992 graduate of the Corning High School; where he was a talented athlete, leading the state of Iowa in rushing yards, his senior year. Mick married Bonnie Renee Dickey on July 9, 2007 in Run Away Bay, Jamaica. He has lived in several towns in the southwest area of Iowa, until moving to Platte City 9 years ago. Mick worked as a car hauler for Jack Cooper Transport in Fairfax District of K.C., KS. He enjoyed hunting, motorcycling, snowmobiling, boating, and was an avid fan of the Kansas City Chiefs and Royals. Mick’s passion was entertaining his many friends, and just having an all-around good time. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, his maternal grandfather, and his father Michael L. Adams Sr. Mick is survived by: his maternal grandmother Virginia Robert of Des Moines, IA; his mother Maria Rothmeyer of Ankeny, IA; his wife Bonnie of the home; his daughters Hannah (Derek) Kellett of Platte City, and Alex Adams of Lawrence, KS; his sister Melynda (Scot) Moritz of Ankeny, IA; his grandson Bentley Kellett; his niece Meg Cook; his nephew Harrison Cook; and several cousins and friends.
