Obituary for Mary L. "Bobbie" Duncan

Mary “Bobbie” L. Duncan, 100, of Kansas City, MO passed away on Sunday, September 24, at Villa St Francis, Olathe, KS, her home for the past 7 years. Mary was born May 10, 1917 to Otto and Clara (Miller) Gredell. She grew up in Blessed Sacrament Parish, Kansas City, MO, attended St Agnes Academy, the Kansas City Art Institute and worked for Hallmark Cards. She married Dale D. Duncan of Thomas, WV on September 18, 1944 and they returned to Kansas City, MO, following the war, where they raised their four children in St Louis Parish.
Mary is survived by her four children: Richard “Dick” D. Duncan, Sparks, Nev; Diane M. Duncan, Weston, MO; James “Jim” D. Duncan, Wichita, KS; Keith V. Duncan, Flagstaff, AZ; a sister, E.A. “Betty” (Gredell) Ulschak, Kansas City, MO; daughters-in-law, many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
She is preceded in death by: her husband, Dale; her mother and father; her brothers Walter Raymond “Ray” Gredell and Charles Richard “Dick” Gredell; and a special cousin, William E. “Bill” Miller.
The family would like to thank the staff at Villa St. Francis, as well as all their faithful volunteers, and Catholic Community Hospice for their loving and thoughtful care of their mother.
A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 2 pm on Wednesday, September 27 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 407 Cherry, Weston, MO. Interment will be held at Leavenworth National Cemetery, Leavenworth, KS on Thursday at 9 am.
