Esther “Marge” Bledsoe Fields, 81, of Platte City, MO passed away Friday, November 15, 2013 at St. Luke’s Northland Hospital in Kansas City, MO. A visitation will be held 6:30 – 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 19, at New Market Christian Church in New Market, MO. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, November 20, at the church. Interment will follow in the Dearborn Cemetery in Dearborn, MO. The family suggests contributions be given to the New Market Christian Church. Marge was born June 14, 1932 in New Market to Gideon Leeper and Grace Edith (Maget) Bledsoe. She was a 1950 graduate of the Dearborn High School. Marge married Walter Eugene Fields on April 14, 1956 in St. Joseph, MO. She was a lifelong resident of Platte County; and worked for 45 years as a clerical supervisor for the state of Missouri, retiring in 2000. Marge was a board member for the New Market Christian Church, and also served in the past by playing piano. She was treasurer of the Eastern Star, Daisy Chapter #86, volunteer for the Platte City Friends, and member of the North Platte Living History. Marge also enjoyed sewing, crochet, flowers, and spending time with her friends and family. She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband; a stepson Virgil Fields; and 2 brothers Gideon “Austin” Bledsoe and Irvin “Donald” Bledsoe. Marge is survived by: her daughter Nancy (Mike) Jameson of Dearborn; 5 grandsons David, Daniel, and Darren Jameson, and James and Matt Fields; and 2 great granddaughters.
