Clyde Ray Hill, 79, of Platte County, Missouri died on July 23, 2017, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born, July 18, 1938, in Beverly, Mo to Russell Sr. and Minnie C. (Searcy) Hill. Clyde was the youngest of nine children who included: Elwood Reynolds, Mary Jesse Cloud, Robert, Dorothy, Russell Jr., Raymond, Nida and Della. Clyde is survived by his five children Julie (John) Torrence, Brad, Todd (Surah), Tim (Stacey) and Rusty (Carra) Hill, his nine grandchildren - Molly, Brian and Joe Torrence, Braxton Hill, Daniel (Darcy) Hill, Anna Hill, Mason Hill and Dalton and Augie Hill; twin great-grandsons, Harrison and Hunter Hill, his sisters, Nida Campbell and Della (Donald) Porter, sisters-in-law Wilma Hill and Judy Hill, and many nieces and nephews - all of whom he dearly loved. Clyde graduated from West Platte High School in 1956. He married Pat Sigrist and they raised five children. Clyde was a farmer and owned Clyde R. Hill Construction Company. Clyde was very active in his community, including the West Platte School Board, Jaycees, the Land Improvement Contractors of America and the Weston Masonic Lodge. Honors include Contractor of the year, farm family of the year and recognition for donating his time and equipment to build the baseball field in Weston. Clyde fought Parkinson’s disease for nearly 30 years. Throughout his battle, Dad remained incredibly strong and never complained, all the while maintaining his sense of humor. The Hill family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the loving care given to Dad by the most loving, caring staff/nurses/angels at Twin Oaks Health & Rehab in Lansing, Kansas. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m, Thursday, July 27, 2017 at Vaughn Funeral Home, with Masonic services and memorial service following visitation at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Disease Research or to the Hillsboro Christian Church, Platte City, MO.
