Obituary for William Seward "Bill" Jurgens

William “Bill” Seward Jurgens, 70, passed away Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at his home in Weston, MO. Following cremation, a visitation will be held 4:00 – 8:00 p.m., Friday, December 2, at his home—603 Summer St., Weston, MO. A memorial service will be held 1:30 p.m., Saturday, December 3, at Vaughn Funeral Home in Weston. The family suggests contributions be given to: Shriner’s Hospital for Children, Boy’s Town Omaha, or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. Bill was born February 24, 1946 in Brooklyn, NY to John Joseph and Gertrude A. (Neumann) Jurgens. He was a graduate of the Half Hollow Hills High School in Long Island; later attending Colgate University in Hamilton, NY; and was a graduate of Long Island University. Bill served his country as a member of the U.S. Army. He spent his 40 year career as a Wholesaler of financial products to Brokers across the country, an avenue of the investments industry that Bill helped pioneer. He married Connie Gail Beattie on October 31, 1980 in K.C., MO. Bill was of the Christian Faith, loved sports, especially Royal’s Baseball and K.U. Basketball. He loved to socialize with his many friends throughout the community; and Bill was particularly fond of spending time with his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. Bill is survived by: his wife Connie of the home; his daughter Gail (Greg) Schuetz of K.C., MO; 2 brothers John Joseph “Jack” Jurgens Jr., (Dawn) of Hendersonville, TN, and Conrad (Patricia) Jurgens of Atlantic Beach, FL; 3 grandchildren Taylor, Ryan, and Anna, all of Kansas City; nephew Mark; nieces Melissa, Erica, and Christy; 5 great nephews; and 5 great nieces.
