Obituary for Mary "Kay" Vossler

Mary Kay Vossler passed away at NorthCare Hospice House in North Kansas City, Missouri on February 11, 2018, following a long illness and surrounded by her family.
She was born Mary Catherine Suttner on September 1, 1944 in Aholt, Missouri, the fourth of seven children of Frank and Neoma (Stiers) Suttner. She attended elementary schools in Aholt and Glasgow, MO and graduated from Saint Joseph’s High School in Salisbury, MO where she was on the basketball team.
Mary Kay worked for several years at Tri-County Trust Bank in Glasgow, eventually becoming bank treasurer prior to her marriage to Ralph E. Vossler on May 27, 1967 at Saint Mary’s Catholic Church. They started their family in Kansas City, Missouri, where they welcomed sons Christopher and Daniel Vossler. The family later moved to Weston, Missouri where she worked for several years at the Bowman Keeping Room restaurant.
Mary Kay was an active member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Weston, and served as a volunteer on the Parish Council and at ice cream socials, as Bingo chairperson, and as a children’s religious education instructor.
In addition to her parents, Mary Kay was preceded in death by siblings Darlene Suttner Rigg, Louis Suttner, Monica Suttner, brother in law Frank Rigg, and sisters in-law Judy Suttner, Nancy Suttner and Janice Vossler Thompson.
Mary Kay is survived by her husband of fifty years, Ralph Vossler, sons Chris and Daniel Vossler and daughter in-law Jamie Vossler all of Weston, Missouri. She is also survived by sisters Vicky Burns and husband Richard of Ocala, Florida, Theresa Grisham and husband Paul of Anthem, Arizona, brother Kenny Suttner of Glasgow Missouri, and brothers in-law Paul and wife Barbara Vossler, and Myrl and wife Becky Vossler. Mary Kay will also be missed by her many nieces and nephews and a host of cousins and friends.
Praying of the Rosary will be offered at Holy Trinity Church, 407 Cherry St, Weston, MO at 4:30 PM Thursday, February 15, followed by visitation there from 5-7 PM. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 AM on Friday, February 16 at Holy Trinity Church. Graveside services will be held at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Weston, followed by a luncheon at Holy Trinity Parish hall.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Holy Trinity Church, 407 Cherry St, Weston, MO 64098.
