Michael Louis Reynolds, 57, of Platte City, MO, passed away on Wednesday, December 18th, 2019 at St. Luke’s Hospice House in Kansas City, MO. Michael was born January 16, 1962 in Albuquerque, NM to Melvin and Betty (Rooks) Reynolds. He joined the United States Army, where he served as a helicopter mechanic for 26 years before retirement. He married Petra Margarete Dornauer on June 18, 1983 in Germany, where they lived for a time. He enjoyed being “Mr. Mike” while working with Youth Services in Germany, and got his commercial airline mechanic license upon returning to the states. He was preceded in death by his parents. Michael is survived by his wife; daughters Nadine Roberts, Stephanie Reynolds, and Kristy (Joe) Reynolds, all of Platte City, MO; grandsons Michael Mitten, Jonathan Farabaugh, Tyler Roberts, and Ryan Reynolds; brother Mark (Judy) Reynolds of Albuquerque, NM; sister Stacy Turner of Buffalo, NY; and numerous friends and extended family. A graveside service with military honors will be held at Leavenworth National Cemetery in Leavenworth, KS on Thursday, December 26, 2019 at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be given to VFW Post 4055 of Platte City.
