John M. Stielow, 52, of Platte City, MO passed away Sunday, March 14, 2021. John was born on June 17, 1968 in Denver, CO to John Keith and Mary Louise (Wagner) Stielow. John was a longtime resident of Platte County and graduate of the Platte City High School. He was a mechanic and along with his father, was owner/operator of the de-icing and ground service equipment maintenance business, KCI, CAM (Contract Aircraft Maintenance). John married Deneta Kay Holt on September 28, 1990 in Platte City. John was a very hands on person and enjoyed tinkering with a variety of projects and was constantly moving from project to project. He also loved spending time with his family. John was preceded in death by his mother; his granddaughter; and a son in law Nathanial Duncan. He is survived by his wife Deneta Kay; his father John Keith Stielow of Platte City; his children Brooke (Hunter) Mosby of Edgerton, MO, John Hayden Stielow of Platte City, Elizabeth (Tiffany) Bailey of Leavenworth, KS, and Gillian Stielow of Platte City; his grandchildren Hazel-May, Cecil, and John Lucas; his sisters Rhonda (William) Wagner, Brenda (Curtis) Faulkner, and Melinda Stielow; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. A visitation will be held Monday, March 22, 2021 from 1-2 pm at Rollins Funeral Home, Platte City, MO, followed by a funeral service at 2 pm. Interment will follow at the Platte City Cemetery. Masks and social distancing are required. Memorial contributions can be given to the charity of one’s choice.
