Obituary for George W. Fee

George W. Fee, 93, of Weston, MO, passed away Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at the Abby Woods Nursing Facility in St. Joseph, MO. George was born October 21, 1928 in Weston to Edward Bley and Evelyn Elizabeth (Patton) Fee. He was a lifelong resident of Weston and a 1947 graduate of the Weston High School. George served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He married Bernice West on January 19, 1951 in Weston; and was a member of the Republican Committee of Platte County for over 20 years. George was known as a “Jack of all trades” and not only raised cattle and tobacco, but was also an accomplished carpenter having built several homes and tobacco barns in the area. He was also a talented mechanic who repaired cars and tractors. George also enjoyed reading Louis La’Mour westerns in his spare time. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Bernice; 2 brothers, 4 sisters, and a granddaughter Renee Nicole Applewaite. George is survived by his children Terry Ann Gieringer of Edgerton, MO, Greg Fee of Weston, Vicki Lynn Fee of Edgerton, and Lisa Nan Fee of Atchison, KS; 5 grandsons; 12 great grandchildren; 2 great, great grandsons; sisters Joyce Bramble and Judy Pederson; and numerous extended family and friends. A visitation will be held 1:00 – 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at Vaughn Funeral Home in Weston; followed by a 2:00 p.m. funeral service. Interment, with military honors, will follow at the Mount Bethel Cemetery in Weston. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to The Wounded Warrior Project in George’s memory.
