Carolyn S. Zeit, 78, of Shawnee, KS, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Monday, February 21, 2022. Carolyn was born August 30, 1943 in Weston, MO to Walter and Anne (Murdock) Oliver. She was a 1961 graduate of Atchison County High School, Atchison, KS. Carolyn married William Joseph Zeit in 1967 in Atchison; and after his passing, she worked many jobs to support her kids, and especially enjoyed working as a Lab Technician at Hennessy Research for the last 20 years. Family was of the greatest importance to Carolyn. She loved spending time with her siblings, kids, and grandkids. Carolyn had a zest for life, enjoying her trinkets, rugs, the casinos, travelling, and anything “raspberry”. She had a love for animals and helped many that were in need of care. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents; her husband William Joseph; and son Randall. She lives on through her children Chris, Clark (Denise), and Lee Ann (Michael); her grandkids Liz, Gabby, Eli, and Isabella; 3 sisters; and a brother. Carolyn’s gentle soul and amazing personality blessed her with many lifelong friends. Following cremation, a visitation will be held 1:00 – 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 23, 2022; followed by a 2:00 p.m. memorial service at Vaughn Funeral Home in Weston, MO. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be given to Wayside Waifs Rescue Shelter to continue Carolyn’s legacy of caring for animals.
