Obituary for Steven Todd Darby

Steven Todd Darby, 59, of Leavenworth, Kansas passed away peacefully on December 27th, 2022. Steven Darby was born on July 28th, 1963, in Leavenworth, KS to Ronald and Darlene Darby. After Steven graduated from West Platte High School in 1981, he went on to study at Missouri Western State University. Steven was a hard worker and enjoyed all aspects of working. He and his father built over 200 houses together throughout his lifetime. Steven worked for the airlines for many years to include TWA and United Airlines. Steven was recently working for Evergy in the Fuel yard and enjoyed his time spent working with his coworkers. Steven was filled with happiness, joy, and love during his life. A few of his favorite hobbies he enjoyed was singing karaoke, listening and playing music, and visiting casinos. He was a die-hard Chief’s fan and never missed watching a game or rooting for the Kansas City Chiefs. Steven was preceded in death by his brother Timothy Darby. Steven is survived by his wife Kristie Darby, Son Clayton (Amanda) Darby, Son Mark (Chadd) Zamora, Daughter Anna Darby, Son Stevie Darby, Parents Ron and Darlene Darby, Sister Angela (Mike) Barmann, and sister in law Pamela (Jack) Malecki along with many loving cousins, aunts, uncles and friends. Steven was a lover of all animals and a friend to all. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in the name of Steven Darby to HOPE Pet Rescue—770 Shawnee St.-- Leavenworth, KS 66048, a place that he really loved. A visitation will be held 4:00 – 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 4, 2022, at Vaughn Funeral Home in Weston, with Steve’s wife and family available throughout the afternoon.
